Does listening to music help you write?
I find it just distracts me. I can't fully focus unless I am in complete silence and there is nothing to distract me. I have attention deficit disorder (ADD) so I get distracted really easy and it's very difficult for me to fully concentrate. For that reason I make sure that I am in a room alone and won't get distracted.
I am the same. People really cannot focus on two things at once. I used to play quiet music when I studied but I found out I remember things better if I don't. However, it is a great idea to take a break and listen to music every once in a while.

I agree, taking breaks in between is a very helpful and prevents headaches. I find listening to music sometimes gives me ideas on new poems and new writings. So yes, I agree it's a good idea to take a break and listen to music.
