So, many of us writers hit a snag when we are writing. We hit a writer's block where we have no idea where to go from where we are. What are some things you do to overcome this challenge as a writer?
I start a different project entirely. My issue with writer's block is that I run out of ideas for one thing, but come up with a ton of great ideas for something that isn't the thing I'm writing.
A fun trick I picked up a few years ago, was when I was taking part in a local bookstore's writing competitions. They had weekly things going on where each week there were different stipulations on what entries could be. Genres, writing styles, etc. Doing those really helped deal with writer's block, because by trying something completely different, it helped figure out ways to continue other projects I was working on. Different perspectives or character archetypes, for example.
